Deniz Baloglu
Deniz is a parent coach and advocate dedicated to supporting families of gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) children. With expertise in educational advocacy, cognitive diversity, and social-emotional development, she helps parents navigate the unique challenges and strengths of neurodiverse learners.
As the founder of Navigator of Giftedness, she provides parent coaching, consultations, workshops, and social-emotional learning opportunities tailored to the needs of gifted and 2e children. Her collaborative, strengths-based approach, informed by research and lived experience, empowers families to make informed decisions about their children’s education and well-being.
Deniz is a trained facilitator for Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG), guiding parents in understanding perfectionism, asynchronous development, and executive function challenges in gifted learners. She serves on the Parent Editorial Content & Advisory Board for the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and was previously a Board Member for the California Association for the Gifted (CAG).
With a background in education and data analysis, Deniz takes a logical, evidence-based approach to problem-solving. She holds a Professional Academic Certificate in Twice-Exceptional Education from the Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education. She has additional training in developmental psychology, educational therapy, and parent coaching. She also earned a Master’s in Information Technologies and has years of experience in data analysis and business intelligence, bringing an analytical perspective to advocacy and coaching.
Beyond her work in gifted education, Deniz has a strong background in chess. She started playing at age four and was a member of the National Turkish Chess Youth Team. Chess has shaped her critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills, which she applies in coaching and analysis.
She is deeply committed to helping families recognize and nurture the full potential of their gifted and 2e children, advocating for appropriate academic, social, and emotional accommodations. Whether through coaching, workshops, or community initiatives, her goal is to equip parents with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to help their children thrive.
Deniz lives with her family in the Bay Area, California, working to enhance learning outcomes and promote equity in education.
